About

Your Hosts. Jaye and Keith have lived, loved and worked in this area for many years now. In 2017 we moved from Twitchen Farm, an 8 guest room farmhouse, to Highfield House, Parracombe. The 1980s brutalist building required modernising, this work is largely complete and ready for guests, the first visiting in April 2019.

Your Space. There are two bedrooms which can be let individually or together. Both have been designed to make maximum advantage of the amazing view. They are large rooms with their own seating area and 72cm flat screen TVs. New modern en-suites have  large shower cubicles with rain head and traditional showers, plenty of hot water and good water pressure.

Access is via 12 wide and shallow steps and a guest entrance door.

The Patio Area.  A sheltered sun trap in the mornings and in the late afternoon a place to enjoy the sunset and the view. There is a tap for cleaning muddy boots and paws.

The Diner. An area for both rooms to use, beverages with fresh milk, kitchenette with fridge, wine glasses.

Free Wifi available in the bedrooms and diner.

Drying Area for wet coats and boots.

Environmental Commitment. The house is double glazed and well insulated. Heating and hot water are from an Air Source Heat Pump powered with electricity from renewable suppliers. There are facilities for re-cycling. We use organic, Fairtrade and local produce as much as possible. We avoid individual sachets when practical. We promote local attractions and provide support for visitors wanting to walk nearby.

We manage a small area of woodland at the bottom of the garden where we plant and provide habitats for birds, insects and mammals. On the edges and steep slopes of the garden we encourage wild flowers.
